Last week we stole some time to ourselves in Oregon & Washington… Our trip started in Portland. After this we and drove south to Bend, OR where we were surrounded by the high desert complete with lush rivers. This was a very cool place where people seemed genuinely happy and at peace with life. Bend offered the chance to hike by the river, ride bicycles and just hanging out. Unfortunately, our time in this place was too short… With more things to see and do we drove through the rainforest to small city called Carson, Washington just across the Columbia River.
It was a memorable place for us to meet beautiful people and just enjoyed the nature… Tim found the most amazing brewery in the mountain (but he is keeping the location a secret)
and we had an amazing mountain hike there. After driving by the Columbia River we decided rafting would be a good idea… Yes, it was a blast!
With only a couple days remaining we decided to we drive down to the Oregon coast and spend a day or two at Cannon Beach. The water was very cold but that did not stop the surfers… There were so many amazing beach access trails where we could hike and saw many people carrying their surfboards down to the beach… It was just amazing to see where the mountain met the beach… This night we had a fire on the beach at night enjoyed roasting marshmallows and mashing they into graham crackers with chocolate making the yummiest S’mores.
It was so much fun!
After the beach days, we moved back to Portland to enjoy the city with all the good food and many shops. On the way into the city we had a chance to stop by the famous Rose gardens in Washington Park.
AMAZING! You must go see this!
