Oh’ Summer…

As with most places this season, we are having very hot summer here in Japan! It seems like such a long time since I felt a summer season like this. Have you ever heard the call of the locus?  When the locus starts to sing you know that summer has arrived… Yes, it is summer here.  I have been reading the news about the extreme heat wave that is upon the mainland of America!  This is very troubling to think that there are so many suffering… Please be safe everyone…

There are a lots of things going on here in Japan this trip… I am here to teach C3 classes again at the DECO Academy. We are all really enjoying the rose garden classes!  When we are not teaching there are the details of photo shoots, DVD filming and, of course lots of miscellaneous preparation of the much anticipated 30th event.  Along the way I sometimes felt that we would never make all the deadlines…!  With everyone’s help, I am happy to say we are going to make it!  Thank you sooooooooo much everyone!!!

Here are a few shots of some of the event display which was finished just in time for the photo shoot.

Sorry that I am not able to show all the details until after the show… I will be sure to repost photos and video after the event, as well as being available in the event collection book titled, “Clay Art World”.

The final proof for my NHK book, Hana No Gifto (Flower Gift) has just arrived and will be out soon!  I am very excited to share this with everyone…

Not to worry, I have also managed some fun time in between. Since Tim is here, we are planning to go Hakone and visit some of our friends this weekend!

Happy Clay Days!
Yukiko
