It’s been a while…

From today, it is roughly seven months to the 30th Anniversary celebration…where many of the Certified DECO Instructors will have a chance to display their talents and skills.  Many are coming from halfway across the world to join in this momentous occasion-Russia, Hong Kong, and Canada!! I am looking forward to reuniting with long time Instructors and meeting some for the first time.

Although the Anniversary isn’t until September, many deadlines are closing in. Submitting photos for the 30th Anniversary book, enrollment applications, and project submitting for the Bear and Wreath book has come, or is coming to a close.  *Phew* that’s a lot of deadlines…

Now, with participants’ pieces almost finished, my Mother and I are able to begin assemble the things collected over the year such as frames and containers for the Anniversary and also to really focus on completing our projects.  At the same time, I am also working on a book project with NHK that will take place during the Anniversary… More news to follow and never-before-seen projects in the DECO world of Clay Art!! Stay tuned!!

This Sunday the Tokyo Marathon was held and I got a chance to see some of the athletes as they made their way to the goal line… I was so moved by the will of all these athletes, but the wheelchair entries moved me to tears and I found my self cheering them on with the biggest voice I could find…
