DECO Flowers at Macy’s Ala Moana

We have had the pleasure of selling DECO Flowers at Macy’s Ala Moana, at the Ku’u home section (4th floor), for 6 years now. I can still remember how nervous and excited I was when I took samples of my handmade flowers, to show their buyer. Since then, all of the flowers that we have made for them have been selling very well, and in conjunction, our relationship has “blossomed” into not only retail, but in holding special events for us, as well.

In preparation for a recent order, making finished pieces can get quite overwhelming and challenging, especially after coming back from Japan. It takes a lot of hours, working non-stop (before the deadline), to make all the components for 30+ finished pieces! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed making all of them, each one unique! I’m so thankful that Macy’s allows me “creative freedom” to do what I want.

Also, we had the opportunity (again), this past weekend, to do demonstrations and mini workshops at Macy’s. I must say, it was a BIG SUCCESS! It’s always a pleasure to see smiling faces of the people who tried making the flowers, and also to see some of our loyal customers and friends who stopped by. These types of events are great, since it enables us to introduce this craft to so many people who are unfamiliar to it. We can’t thank Macy’s enough for having us, again.

If you happen to have missed this event, I would like to extend an early invitation to join us for a special night at Macy’s, in the Ala Moana Center, on the 23rd of November, 2008. Hope to see you there!
